Rumba

Like Salsa and Mambo, Ballroom Rumba derives its music and movement from Cuban Son. Cuban Rumba is, however, entirely different from Ballroom Rumba. Rumba is thought to have contributed to the development of the Cha Cha Cha, and most of the figures in Rumba can be adapted to Cha Cha Cha. Rumba is one of the five International Latin dances.

Rumba is in 4/4 time and is danced to music at around 25 bars per minute.

Rumba is the most seductive and sensual Latin dance. It is characterised by its slow tempo, dramatic movement and hip action.
